Church of Agios Dimitrios Loubardiaris as a wedding location in Athens
Church of Agios Dimitrios Loubardiaris is a fashionable wedding location not only among the newlyweds from all over the world, but also among the rich Athenian families. The church is dedicated to Agios Dimitrios and took the name “Loubardiaris” after a thunder bolt hit the Turkish garrison commander who had installed “a loubarda” (big cannon) to attack the church and the believers. The church is located opposite the Acropolis and can hold wedding ceremonies for up to 100 people any time of the year.
